Tournament Regulations for Marlin Mayhem Spring Classic 2025
Please read all rules carefully. Adherence to these rules is mandatory for all participants in this specific tournament.
1. Participation & Eligibility
All participants must be registered for the 'Marlin Mayhem Spring Classic 2025'.
A valid Federal HMS Angling category permit is required.
Maximum of 6 anglers per registered vessel.
2. Tournament Period & Boundaries
Tournament fishing hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 12, 2025.
Boundaries are Florida Keys waters, south of Key Largo and east of Key West (specific coordinates to be provided).
3. Tagging & Reporting (Marlin)
This is primarily a catch-photo-release tournament for marlin. Specific scoring will be based on verified releases.
If a special tournament-tagged marlin is part of a promotion, its tag must be reported immediately and presented as per pre-tournament briefing.
Video evidence of marlin release according to IGFA guidelines is mandatory for points.
4. Species & Tackle
Eligible species: Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Spearfish (if applicable). Sailfish may have a separate points category.
All fishing must comply with IGFA rules unless otherwise specified.
Maximum line class: 130 lb.
5. Conservation (Marlin)
Strict adherence to catch and release for all billfish, except for qualifying tournament-tagged fish if applicable.
Use of circle hooks is mandatory when deploying natural baits or natural bait/artificial lure combinations.
